‘Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince’ London Photocall: Red Carpet Recap

With “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” having been wrapped for almost a year promotion of the film seems long overdue. Stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and more made an appearance today at London’s Claridge’s Hotel which marks the beginning of a series of worldwide premieres and photo ops before the film’s July 15 opening — something Hollywood Crush is very excited to be following!
Maybe it was in rebellion to the film’s delayed release, or maybe because it wasn’t a red carpet affair (it was actually more of a brown, mosaic carpet), but those who attended the photocall dressed casual.

The older crowd: producers David Barron and David Heyman, stars Michael Gambon (almost unrecognizable as Dumbledore without his beard!) and Jim Broadbent (slightly more recognizable as new Hogwarts professor, Horace Slughorn) and director David Yates dressed formally yet comfortably, with an array of button-up shirts, blazers and dress pants.
The young stars of the film had more variety. Tom Felton, who has grown up so much since “Sorcerer’s Stone,” and Bonne Wright stayed low-key, rocking black tops and dress jeans, but newcomer Jessie Cave’s green leggings and yellow-and-black stockings look like something she stole from wardrobe in support of a Gryffindor Quidditch match.
Emma Watson looked classy as ever with her cute skirt outfit, while Rupert Grint sporting the rocker look we’ve been seeing in the past few years. (Though his boots look as out of place as Kristen Stewart’s Converses we saw at this year’s Movie Awards!)

Daniel Radcliffe seems to be continuing the trend he started when he joined the cast of “Equus” by trying to act as un-Harry-Potter-like as possible. But since when does trying to not look like Harry Potter mean you have to dress up like, er, Pete Wentz?
Judging from the premieres of the past, we can expect more color and variety from the stars as they continue to promote “Half-Blood Prince” in the final two weeks before its release, but a few words of advice to the ladies of “Harry Potter:” For the sake of your male castmates, try not to wear heels quite so high.
What do you think of the pictures from the “Half-Blood Prince” photocall?
